06 Fév Bangladesh Inland Container Depots to Close for National Election

Dhaka, Bangladesh – February 5th, 2026 – The Bangladesh Inland Container Depots Association (BICDA) has announced a temporary closure of all Inland Container Depots (ICDs) across the country in observance of the upcoming national election. The closure will take effect from the early hours of Thursday, February 12th, 2026, and continue until Friday, February 13th, 2026.

According to a notice issued by BICDA, all operational activities at ICDs will cease from 12:01 AM on Thursday, February 12th, 2026. This measure is in line with national directives to facilitate the smooth conduct of the election, which is scheduled for the same day.

Normal operational activities are slated to resume promptly at 8:01 AM on Friday, February 13th, 2026. BICDA has urged all ICDs to disseminate this important information to their individual clients to ensure minimal disruption to supply chains and logistical planning.

The national election is a significant democratic exercise, and the temporary closure of ICDs underscores the importance placed on public participation and security during this period. Businesses reliant on these depots for import, export, and domestic container movement are advised to plan their logistics accordingly, factoring in the non-operational period.
