BCMEA and ILWU Local 514 Mediation Concludes Without Resolution

11 Nov BCMEA and ILWU Local 514 Mediation Concludes Without Resolution

The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) concluded its efforts this evening to mediate negotiations between the British Columbia Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA) and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Local 514 in Vancouver. Despite separate meetings with each party, no progress was made, and the mediation process has officially ended without any further sessions scheduled.

The BCMEA, engaged in negotiations for nearly two years, expressed continued commitment to finding an agreement that supports B.C.’s waterfront workforce and ensures stability for Canada’s supply chain.
