Suspension of Rail Operations at Montreal Gateway Terminal Due to Labour Negotiation Impasse

04 Nov Suspension of Rail Operations at Montreal Gateway Terminal Due to Labour Negotiation Impasse

Montreal Gateway Terminal (MGT) will suspend rail operations at its Cast and Racine facilities effective Tuesday, November 5, at 7:00 AM, until further notice. This decision arises from operational constraints and uncertainties linked to ongoing negotiations for the Montreal Longshoremen’s collective agreement renewal.

In response, CN will temporarily suspend all export capacity for Cast and Racine at its inland terminals. CN is actively monitoring the situation and will issue updates as new information becomes available.
